Skutter - Red Dwarf

About 2 years ago I decided to 3D print a Skutter from Red Dwarf, so I modelled one, the body in Solidworks and the head I sculpted in Blender because I couldn't poly model to save my life. I'm a bit better at it now so I remade it using the old one as a rough guide.

Got rid of any 3D print concessions, so there are loads of tiny thin bits all over.

I recreated a bit of Series I set and a dispenser as one of the above images is featured in Kris Carter's Red Dwarf fanzine, Drive Room (issue 2, Future Echoes) - recommended if you like Red Dwarf and it's workings - kriscarter.wordpress.com if you do.

Eventually, I'd like to do a full minute or so video, but that's for the future when I have a 3080 or something better to render on.

It's not entirely accurate, the original Skutters had a shorter body, a bit more squashed and less square, and I've made the head a bit sleeker while keeping the same basic shape, a bit like the concept designs, but I'm quite happy with it for now.

Skutters copyright Grant Naylor Productions etc.

I don't like that milk, not just because it's full of marrowbone jelly. I had trouble with Blender's new fluid sim system and couldn't get anything to work except this. One to improve.

A noisy video because I'm on a laptop with a 1070, SFX from the show and a SFX pack.
